Summary:This position performs moderately complex routine and non-routine accounting work including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial statements to support management. Also provides explanatory statements or presentations to bring unusual accounting issues or concerns to attention of Accounting management. May also review the work of less experienced Accountants.Candidates will be required to pass an English assessment.
Schedule & Location:This is an exempt, full-time, office-based position in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico.
- Prepares reports and conducts moderately complex analysis of financial data on a timely basis
- Prepares ledgers and makes journal entries
- Is responsible for fixed asset or inventory accounting
- Prepares trial balance or financial statements
- Reviews the reports and analyses prepared by more junior accountants for accuracy
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems
- Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization
- Presents findings and supporting financial information to Accounting management
- Prepares appropriate commentary or explanations relating to issues/information of particular interest
- Uses judgment to determine which issues/information warrant closer attention
- May conduct investigations of accounts if needed
- Communicates with operating or staff personnel to supply or explain data, secure information, or offer additional support
- May provide advice on accounting-related issues, using proven and documented principles to support recommendations
- Represents organization as a prime contact on projects
- Interacts with senior internal and external staff on significant matters often requiring coordination
- Identifies accounting systems that need strengthening and makes appropriate recommendations for improvement to Accounting management
- Participates in special projects to provide moderately complex accounting information and support
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (other business degree in combination with strong work experience may be considered)
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA)
- 2-3+ years experience in general accounting/financial reporting experience
- Corporate tax experience
- Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency with financial systems and standard software applications (PeopleSoft; Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Attention to detail and strong organization skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
